Have to agree with the points being made about the 'Help Bearnard' quest. It's frustrating to have to keep coming back to the site every 20 min/2 hour/4 hour for such a small amount of points compared to the end goal of 30k. You can only help Bearnard 7 times a day anyway, so why make us wait 4 hours to do a quest?

I appreciate another task being added, but helping Bearnard will lock players into Louise Hill. I'm sad I have to stay there for hours now as compared to being able to do it and do the rest of my daily tasks in other towns!
  • Villager Lavendel (#761) 22 Aug 2020, 2:27 am
Also you can help Bearnard 7 times a day, which means that after doing those dailies that button will be useless ): Well, I guess it will take all day to get all of his daily tasks done, so that's that..

I started the day in Louise Hill, so the Help Bearnard Quest has me locked there. Once I leave Louise Hill to do tasks in other towns, I won't be back. Having a limited amount of town hops means I have to sacrifice the opportunity to do all of the quests in one of the towns, just so I can return to a town I've already completed the daily quests for :(

    I agree
Please up Bear points and up cooldown

Calm down everyone! I’m sure Staff will have a reasonable (/S) solution to the Bearnard task problem, like expecting us to grind adventuring until we get enough town hops to cover all those extra hops to Louise Hill to help Bearnard with one. task. at. a. time.

Bets that when the progress meter is close to full & extended goals close to being unlocked, a sudden visual glitch will be found that means DAYS more grinding for the rest of us, LOL 😂

I've gotta say I actually don't like how this event is operating. It encourages players to stay online for unhealthy amounts of time. :< I hope you guys reconsider the way future events work.

Helping. Bernard is great if you are a new player with no other towns to go to but player locking users to one place in order to keep up with the event is unreasonable. It halts all progress in further quests because users don't want to lose their potential points.

Is spinning Bernard's chance machine considered as helping him? Tbh it should because honestly with how the lore is and how Bernard states it helps him financially in his chance machine dialogue it should be a thing.

I am so disappointed I don't even have words. This event is being run so poorly that unless things change by the end of it I am seriously considering quitting - some beta people I know said the spring event was doable and I want to believe that, but not with how things are right now.

I want this event to be better. Why in the world does the Bearnard one have a cooldown when you can only do his quest 7 times in a day anyway? Why lock players into Louise Hill? I'm lucky that I'm subbed (bought with potatoes, coz I was hesitant to spend money here) and have the extra hop so I'm not so out of luck today and can plan better for the future, but still.

Oh, by the way this event is only worth 360 points per day right now and that assumes you hit every single one because with a 4 hour cooldown you can only do it 6 times in a day. That's awful, I don't want that. I should not have to make these kinds of sacrifices for an event, it's not 'working harder' if I stay locked in Louise Hill or have to scramble to figure out how not to get stuck there all day. This event needs to be better.

I know it’s too early to tell, but it’s looking like you really have to be online constantly and grind to be able to obtain the upper tiers. Like what Seras said, it’s encouraging an unhealthy amount of online time. While I do think there should be a tier for the hard workers, it would be really nice if the silver or gold could be achieved by the casual player.

Love the art for the items and the banner, it's really detailed.

The theme and art surrounding this event is super cute, but I'm not really sure about the timed nature of the tasks?

Hopefully the additional quests will even out the maths on this, but I really hope that it works out so that players aren't expected to lose sleep to grind to the final tiers. Expecting commitment from players to reach the higher scores is one thing, but for people to potentially have to lose sleep over it would be a pretty unpleasant expectation.

  • Villager VEE (#675) 22 Aug 2020, 9:23 am
im not giving up sleep for this event. i lost 1k ranks just by sleeping. if i do not get all the items i will be extremely upset. i dont have a job and im at my pc when im awake, ive been constantly doing the tasks but it doesnt seem like ill ever get to 30k even with added tasks. what about ppl who have jobs, school, family who arent at pc all day? who decided this event was balanced? its not. idk what the new tasks will be but the bearnard one is terrible. will future tasks involve non louise hill npcs? will we be forced to choose one task over the other because of limited town hops?

and dont even get me started on the items. yall release an announcement saying you are going to fix the black outlines on items, then the next announcement is about an event IN WHICH ALL THE ITEMS EXCEPT THE WINGS HAVE THESE HORRIBLE OUTLINES. ????? like releasing these items without a disclaimer of , oh these lines will be fixed too dont worry, is extremely worrying to me. two days after you claim you will revert the outlines, you release new items with said outlines, with no words about it at all. im so confused lol?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of how this event is unfolding so far. :/ So far it feels like anyone who even wants a chance at getting a high tier basically needs to not have anything at all to do in their life but constantly be on DV. That's not really a good playstyle to promote. Also basically locking those of us without an extra town hop in Louise Hill is something I don't like at all either.

I know there's still what, three more tasks to get added, so maybe those will not be so demanding. I hope so. I also hope you'll listen to us and the suggestions some have put out there to try to better this event, and other similar events, in the future. I know this is the first event of its type in DVs full release, so it's bound to have some hiccups, just would love to have those remedied.
