I found this event quite easy to keep up with after the 3rd day. After all the tasks
were released it made it 10x easier to gain enough points to get on track for the elite, which
i should be hitting either the 2nd or 3rd of Sept. I'm still able to get about 5-6 hours of sleep
a night as well as napping through out the day when the baby sleeps. I'm currently at 24,935
points in the event so far. I gain about 3000-3100 a day.

It's too hard to reach the 30k points when you have a busy job and keep forgetting to "claim" the task before doing them... Why is there even a system of claiming some tasks before doing them? 😥 (now I lost the points for 3 quests for Lilia...)

Though so far, I love the overtime tier items, thank you for those!

Duckiepup (#16253) That was concise and well said! Agreed!

I must say I don't mind the event set up. It makes sense for an overall grindy game to have a grindy event. After the initial shock of how many points are needed to reach Elite and then after figuring out how to collect the points and such it was set up to be very doable for people who are able to get on the game every 2 hours (pet interaction isn't that important like the others).

Can this event be improved? Definitely. But people, don't forget this is a new site with a small staff size. They are doing their best.

Eschtaaa (#24013) Yeah, it makes sense that the event is grindy, I agree, but as an event that's supposed to be community based, they've really let us down by excluding a lot of the community who can't be on every 2hrs (or every 20min!) I think having it grindy without the time intervals makes more sense for more inclusive community participation. I don't think elite should be reserved for people who can commit full days for two weeks straight. I'd like to see it where you choose what time of day you grind.

Hopefully the next event will be choose-when-you-grind style!

Valen (#36144) It would absolutely be way better to allow people to grind on their own schedule, fully agree with you on this.
I do hope for the next event they will have the tasks set up that they can be done a certain amount each day. But then there might still be people who will be excluded....

Can people who joined after an overtime tier was reached still get the overtime prize? With the hectics of life I haven't been able to participate until recently.
  • Villager Eschtaaa (#24013) 1 Sep 2020, 3:23 pm
Dreammaker (#24238) pretty sure everybody who participates gets the overtime tiers. So just do one task and you should definitely qualify!

Agreed that letting people do each task a certain number of times per day -- on their own schedule -- would be better for folks. Make it the same number of times these tasks would be able to be done in a 24 hour period (so Hatch a Pet would still just be once), just let people do them whenever they have time.

Anyway, Hatch a Pet has really helped me complete my goals in a timely manner! That 600 points helps a ton. I'm now less than 1k points to Elite, so I know I'll make it if I keep this up. ^^

    I fully support this!

Made it to elite today! Honestly was not expecting to be able to do it but it’s quite a relief.

My prior statements still stand, some clarity at the start of the event would have been worth it. Especially when everyone was worried and concerned. Other than that, I think the event could do with some tweaking to make it more time efficient, and community based, but it’s not completely a lost cause. I can’t say it was incredibly fun, but I hope the quest we’re unlocking will be entertaining!
