Thanks for listening to the feedback and making LH free to travel to!

Ahhh THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it free to travel to/from Louise Hill. The timer system is still kind of hard but like... there wouldn't be any point to anything that was entirely easy, no? This at least takes out the extreme need to carefully plan out making dailies.

Thank you for making Louise Hill free to travel to! This will help a great deal!

THANK you for making town hops to Louise Hill free during the event. That takes care of all of my problems. I can wait to finish Louise Hill until midnight my time. While I wait to do Louise Hill dailies, I can hop over to other towns and quest as usual. Well done.
  • Villager Sigilmancy (#19687) 23 Aug 2020, 12:14 am
Well, at least you're kind of listening to us. Now if only you'd remove the timers entirely like a lot of us want, and make the event far less stressful. I can still hope.

Thank you for the travel boon!

why are the goals so high to begin with? lower the damn numbers

Also, for people worried still about quest point accumulations... Bearnard's quest gives 60 points per times. Buli's gives 70 each time. As of my writing this, you can get 1980 points a day or so if you make all of the goals. BUT! There are still 3 more tasks to unlock. If this is the beginning of a pattern and the next unlocking quests continue to increase point output by 10, then the next tasks will net us 80, 90, and 100 points a piece.

To understand what this means: If you started the event TODAY and missed the last two days and managed to get all of the points, and did none of the other tasks that open up, you could get 25,740 points total.

But if you started tomorrow, and the next task is 80 points, and you do all the tasks (and did NOT start today), then the total possible points would be 29,520--if you started today and got everything, then it's 31,500 points.

90 points for 11 days at 6 times a day is another 5,940 points, and 100 points for 10 days at 6 times a day is another 6,000. SO! If you got all the times and missed the entire first day, you'd have a potential of 43,440 points *if you did not do ANYTHING* for the first two days of the event. Players who started on the first day have an even larger pool of points they can get. It's probably something close to 50 grand. So even if people need to miss some for sleep and work, it should not be totally impossible to make elite tier.

I hope this breakdown helps assuage peoples' anxieties some.

lmao is it even possible to reach elite tier without losing sleep?
  • Villager Roxy_Lalonde (#34545) 23 Aug 2020, 1:17 am
The goal scores are way too high.

I'm cutting down my sleep hours and live by alarm clock whenever it's possible, but my best score is rather bad (mind you this is a weekend, so I have more time for playing than I usually do, yet I'm still somehow super low on numbers). I'm starting to doubt that 30k of pts is achievable under the normal circumstances (work, school, etc), unless some of the future tasks will offer significant increase in pts rewards like 500-700 pts per task. Either that or gotta live onsite 24/7 by timers for two weeks.

I'm not asking for it to be super easy and available for everyone, but something less intense that wouldn't make me feel that I'm basically destroying my health in attempt to get a bunch of pixels shaped like wings.

30k pts in 14 days would mean around 2,2k pts per day every day (and even more if you gathered less previously).

It's only third day of event but I'm already very exhausted and got visible dark circles under my eyes now, that much of stress is not fun at all.

So I barely slept today, cause I have like 2700 points and I want to make it to the elite tier. I probably won't be able to, but still. Woke up at night to do the tasks, ended up helping bearnard and somehow sleepily pressing "cancel the task" instead of "complete" or summat. The task was canceled, didn't get a reward, dailies from bearnard are all done at this point, and I literally cried meself back to sleep thinking "surely they will update the game tomorrow". Well, yes and no. Thank you for the boon, I guess?
30k points are still here and it looks like a mountain most of us won't be able to conquer. Extra tasks are good, but timers are still here as well... Heck, I don't even have a life! I'm literally sitting all day in front of my PC, literally from the point I wake up to the point I fall asleep. If 30k don't seem possible even for a loser like me, what about people who have at least something going on for them, be it work or family or honestly anything else?
So far it seems like you listening, but very selectively. Our community has to see transparency, and radiosilence is never a good way to handle things. If you need more time to fix it, or balance it, or anything - it's okay, it's understandable - just tell us something! Even if it's a simple "We're considering\working\we are aware". So far it's like you're ingoring us for the most parts.
I don't feel pride and accomplishment.

I'm trying really hard to not pass too much judgement until seeing more tasks, but it's only been a few days and this is already extremely not fun, for a few main reasons.
    1) Point values- elite tier should be something you need to work for, but if shouldnt be so far out of reach that it can only be reached by dedicating your whole day to the site + losing sleep. This is promoting bad habits and is detrimental to people's health. The point values are ridiculously low- if you are putting in 100 tasks a day, you should be pretty confident you can get the things, and yet, if the math works out and the next quests are what's expected, I won't be able to get even close.
    2) Not knowing- there's so much back and forth of don't worry the next tasks will be higher but....we don't know what they will be (though the newest one does show a potential pattern). Having a goal but not knowing what opportunities you will have in order to reach that point goal is really frustrating.
    3) The timers- These completely screws over anyone who plays petsites in bursts, who has to be away from their computer for job or school or anything- I tend to play a couple hours a day at the end of the day normally. I can't do that now, and because I feel like I am constantly on, I don't have the energy to do dv stuff outside of event.

This is probably a mess cause it's 4 am but wanted to put something down about my current feelings. I do hope that staff starts to take into account the type of unhealthy precedent they are setting.
