Summer Festivities 2020!
The Summer Festivities have officially begun!

EVENT DURATION AUGUST 21ST TO SEPTEMBER 5TH

  • The event can be accessed through the button above or by going to the community drop down menu!
  • For the first few days, an additional new task will appear each day for a total of 8 different tasks.
  • Tasks refresh on a set timer, for example the Gather Refreshments task can be completed every 2 hours (12AM, 2AM, and so on)
  • Overtime reward details will appear if the main bar is filled before the event ends!
  • A seasonal quest related to the events of this year's Summer Festivities will unlock if the bar is successfully filled by the end of the event!
  • This quest, if unlocked will be enabled for the duration of September after the event ends.
  • The leaderboard is just for fun and does not include any bonus prizes for high scoring users!

Event Related Item Drop
  • The Shimmering Ember is an event specific item that is now obtainable by completing daily errands for Louise Hill NPC's (Both positive and negative paths)!
  • All shimmering embers are account bound and will disappear at the end of the event.

    I’m not going to add much because it’s already been said, and more eloquently than I could have. People are being pretty clear.

    The “At least it’s not as bad as other pet sites” sentiment made me snort laugh because I don’t play those pet sites - by choice - and it’s pretty much pointing to a clear choice for me here, isn’t it? I’ve stubbornly resisted it because the things I like about this site, I really, really like.

    I’m truthfully not sure why I was expecting anything different with this event but I’m more of an optimist than I ever knew I was. Oops. I’m just so disappointed and discouraged.

    Another "help an NPC" task?? Really??? I swear, if the rest are going to be like this too I'm going to be so upset.

    The town hop thing is pretty nice though, so I thank you all for deciding to implement that!

    Agreed, the leaderboard is *not* the main issue here. Also from my perspective it reads as "Too many people are complaining about an admin being in the top spot so rather than hide him or whatever we'll just remove it entirely" which is a bad look. If an admin hadn't been in the top spot all the time and you guys still decided to remove it 'In the interest of keeping with the spirit of cooperation rather than competition' as you say it would read entirely different, but you have to admit that's not the case and so it reads I said it.

    What about addressing the impossibility of getting to the elite tier even if you don't sleep? What about addressing our fears and concerns over the new tasks? Because I'm pretty sure that's what we want to see, not this.

    Entirely this, I wish they would listen to the suggestion forum more or at least give examples of what the other tasks will be so I know if I am wasting my time or not trying to reach the final tier/ ANY tier in general.

    Are all supposed to sacrifice our life and sleep to get a small chance at even achieving elite? Sure, we have two more tasks that will be added but that doesn't make up for the people that decide to sleep or even get enough points. The new tasks only added like 70 points and that's not a lot to even get over 1k in a day.

    The rank board was never the issue, hiding it now feels like you’re avoiding the criticism about the staff.

    Dislike the removing of the score board. This isn't a community wide event where we must all work together to achieve something. This is in fact a competitive event. Being able to see who is in front of us is motivation to work harder.

    No good reason to remove the scores. Addressing the issue of the task seeming impossible and not acknowledging that it wouldn't be good for a persons health to get to the highest tier seems like a better idea.

    Main issues almost everyone has - the tiers are too high and expecting people to not sleep at all to get anywhere in the event is ridiculous, many casual players who are actively trying may not even get to bronze because they are unable to spend all day here. The staff member constantly at and around 1st is discouraging for average players and is unprofessional.

    why are you guys removing the leaderboard? i was under the impression that the problem people were having with the event was how many points it took to get the rank rewards and how timegated the tasks were, not the fact that the leaderboard exists.

    I really appreciate seeing other people pipe up with concerns in the news comments here. I compared the number of points needed for the top prizes versus what I was getting and thought maybe it was just me, but other folks mentioning the issues with points gained and the timing of the tasks helps me realize I'm not alone in thinking that that isn't practical and isn't fun.

    My suspicion would believe the removing of the leaderboard was also to remove the frequent criticism over a staff member being in the top 10. Though, I was one to criticize that that leaderboard was useless since there is no reward based on ranks.

    Aww kinda a bummer about the leaderboard. My friends and I were having fun sharing where we all were rank wise, since there's no tier percentage rewards so we never worried about having lower or higher ranks than each other and it was a fun way to keep motivated to try to reach each other instead.

    Staff are people too and if one of them happens to be amazingly dedicated to getting points, then kudos to them! Sounds a bit like kindergarten class in here; admins saw a lot of people complaining about losing ranks due to sleep, so they were like, "Okay, fine, we'll just remove it, then you can't complain about it anymore. Okay, kids, keep playing." ;D

    I'm not saying that's the correct thing to do here, or that it's really going to help solve anything, but that just seems like the situation to me. Not this B.S. about some admin/staff being in Top 10. Who cares about that? XD
