• The ingredients to make the hatching item can be found in Pai, Agnes, and Oran's shops' Bonus Prize pools.
• The item alchemy recipe is available in your recipe book and shown above.
• This Seasonal Pet will remain in the shops for 3 months and rotate out at the end of August to be replaced by a pet for the next season.
• Seasonal pets are obtainable annually on a rotation! The hatching items can be alchemized at any time of the year.
  

 
QUEST BALANCING - LOUISE HILL
Our first round of quest balancing and existing town updates is scheduled for some time in the first half of the month. We're in our final stages of testing and asset preparation, and excited to see what you think!
Here's a more finalized list of daily quest updates as well as new assets and balancing adjustments for the update:

• Max daily quest completions will be lowered from 7 to 3 per day.
• Both tasks and rewards will be adjusted and scaled up accordingly. Potato rewards will be raised overall.
• A Task Reroll option will be available at least once per quest and avoid the task you rerolled from.
• Dialogue will be condensed together where possible to reduce clicks but not remove written assets.
• Any transition issues will be adjusted for smoother questing.
• Each NPC shop will house new items and a new set of recolours.
• Certain items such as pen expansions and wardrobe expansions will be moved to npc shop bonus claims for more player choice.
  

We're also working on the 3's Forest balancing update which will happen some time after this month!

DAPPERVOLK'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY
June 21st marks our second year since official launch! Time sure flies, and we're so excited to be here with you. We have some small surprises and festivities in store for this anniversary, so look forward to it!

SUMMER EVENT DECISIONS
If we were to host a new deity based event this summer, Ivita would be the only deity that doesn't yet have any quests during this season, but time is quite tight since Ivita's month is in July. After some consideration, we've come to the conclusion that there isn't enough time to prepare a fully realized ivita event, and having back to back events with no downtime wouldn't be feasible for our team right now. 

So, instead of an Ivita summer event in July this year, we're planning to work on and launch a new team-based event type some time in late summer with a non-deity theme. The event will be focused around new mechanics and there should be some fun surprises and deviation from the norm, this will be a good way for us to test this event type for the first time and also give us time to prepare a fuller story for Fall. We'll keep you posted on developments, thanks for understanding!

LIAN'S LOTUS FESTIVAL

• Visit the Lotus Festival to begin tracking for activities and become a participant!
• This is a Cooperative Community Event in which all participants can donate to reach collective community milestone rewards.
• Milestone prizes can be claimed by all participants regardless of contribution level once the prize is unlocked.
• There are also Individual Prize Tiers for dedicated participants.
• With the Lotus Festival comes pet blessings, where participants can bless other users' pets for rewards.
  

WHAT ARE PET BLESSINGS?

• During the Lotus Festival, participant pets can be blessed by other users.
• Depending on which blessing item you pick, different overlay effects will appear on blessed pets.
• Once a pet's blessing is full, its owner can collect its many fortunes for rewards.
  

• Lian's Temple Stall shop will be open until June 21st, 11:59PM DVT!
• Shop stock will include all April Deity clothing, Seasonal Spring Clothing, 2 new pet hatchables, totems, and more!
• All shop items should be affordable if you unlock your personal tier prizes at the Lotus Festival and complete all 3 spring quests in the Lotus Pavilion.

To access the event quest, visit the new seasonal area - The Lotus Pavilion! Go to the World Map and find it between Aviar Cove and Silvie's Mine.

• Speak to Lian at the Lotus Pavilion to begin the seasonal quest "A Drop in the Lake"
• There are 3 quests in total to be unlocked in succession.
• "The Lotus Festival" is a daily repeatable quest which can be completed 4 times per day.
  

After going through feedback from previous years for the co-op style event, we've made some major updates to this year's event mechanics!

• Instead of a single progress bar for event completion, there will be a series of community milestone prizes which are unlocked by the community's collective efforts.
• Milestone prizes can be claimed by all participants regardless of contribution level once the prize is unlocked.
• There will also be individual prize tiers for dedicated participants.
• The community milestones can be reached by collective donation of a certain currency item which will be rewarded through event mechanics.
• All tasks in the event will be tracked passively after visiting the event page for the first time, garnering donation currency as well as points towards individual prizes.
• There will be a new pet interaction mechanic which generates rewards and cute effects on participating pets!
  

SEASONAL MAP, NPC, QUESTS, EVENT SHOP

• There will be a new seasonal mini town available to be visited during the event!
• A new seasonal NPC also inhabits this area, with a set of event quests which can be completed for seasonal currency.
• The new seasonal town along with its NPC will disappear once the event ends, to return annually as a seasonal quest.
• An event shop will become accessible on the second day of the event on May 24th at 6pm DVT, stocked with all seasonal items for spring.
• Event currency will be earned through the Co-op Event, Seasonal Event Quests, and various site mechanics.
  

There will be an Avatar Contest and a Creativity Prompt Contest held during the event!

  

• Speak to the First Mate at the Shipwreck to begin the quest "The Captain Behind the Curtain"
• There are 5 quests in total, to be unlocked in succession.
• 2 quests will be repeatable, allowing for progression and accumulation of currency.
• The Neat Ship Shop is stocked with Aeolin items and will be open all month, taking Sand Dollars as currency!
• Other than quests, Sand Dollars can also be obtained through Random Encounters, Adventuring, and Vaer Sea Forage.
  

 
SPRING EVENT PREPARATION
After initially postponing the event launch date due to the size of our recipe balancing update, our preparation is coming along well! We'll be posting an announcement news post with details once we're ready. Thank you everyone for your patience, we're excited to spend spring time with you!

CUSTOM QUEUE
Last month, we needed to focus on other artwork so April's batch of new customs was pushed into May. We're planning to catch up on this delay by claiming an extra custom or two each month in which there's time to claim extras. This means that instead of just 6 claims in a month, there may be 7-8 for a few months going forward depending on our workload for that month.

QUEST BALANCING
We're preparing for our Louise Hill Daily Quest Rebalancing update this month along with the Spring Event. We're hoping to get the update out late this month while also not overlapping too much with other updates. Our plan after getting the first town's rebalancing done is to push out one town's rebalancing every month or two until all existing town dailies have been rebalanced, along with the additional stock in their shops.

• All recipes currently obtainable on site have been moved to be sold in the Officiator's Record Office shop.
• Recipes in the shop can be purchased with Record Tokens, a new permanently available currency item!
  

• Record Tokens are a permanently available, tradeable currency item. Visit the Officiator in Peddler's Port and do the Official Token Exchange daily quest in order to obtain them.
• Each time 20 tokens worth of items are purchased from the Record Office, a free item can be claimed from Bonus Prizes in the shop. These include Officiator clothing items and legendary pet recipes.
• The Officiator currently asks for item alchemy to be performed in exchange for tokens, over time the task required may change.
• In the future, we would like to code in a new item hand in UI in the daily quest for a better item sink interface.
  

• The purpose of this update is to tackle several balancing improvements including recipe distribution, RNG pool appeal, and item sinks.
• Recipe items were found all around the site but in essence you only really needed one of each recipe.
• This update will make obtaining recipes purposeful instead of by chance, and frees up the space in various reward pools for new and more interesting items.
• We also took the chance to create an item sink quest and shop so we're looking forward to seeing how this impacts the game!
