Hey there, looks like you just wandered in. Why not have a look around and stay for a while, maybe even start your own adventure, if you're into that.

July Update!

Hello world-hoppers! Welcome to July, our official first of a month on Dappervolk after launching. We'd like to thank everyone for a lovely launch week! It's been amazing to see everyone's response to our long months of hard work. We hope to continuously improve on the game and we're so excited to share more of it with you!

Without further ado, our first order of business is the unveiling of our very first Monthly Shop. July's theme is Mothlike!

These items were procured from a distant land full of moonlight, dusty books, and hidden knowledge.

What are Monthly Shops?
  • Every month, Pai, Oran, and Agnes from Peddler's Port will have different sets of 6 items in their shops that will retire at the end of the month.
  • These items are obtained from far away lands and follow the theme of the land they visited each month.
  • The items will retire at the end of each month to be replaced by new stock.
  • All retired items from Monthly Shops will eventually be able to be obtained rarely from Grandma Agnes later on.

How can I get to Peddler's Port?
Peddler's Port is a seaside location that you can unlock by going through the main storyline in Louise Hill. Once unlocked, you can visit Peddler's Port any time without using up a town hop!

Pai's Machine of Wonders
Pai will host these 6 items in their shop this month for 180 turnips per spin. If you spin 10 times, you will be able to choose a free item of your choice! Free spins will expire after about 3 months.

Oran's Emporium
Oran's shop will be stocked with these 6 items for 6000 potatoes per spin!

agnesmoth.png
Agnes' Perpetual Shop
Agne's now hosts a Mothlike Silver Chest that contains a full set of items from Pai's shop at a higher total turnip cost.

These monthly shops will run until July 31st, after which they will be refurbished to house August's monthly items!

charitypet.png

The Charity Pet Sale will be concluding on July 4th, we will be donating all remaining proceeds by the 5th and sending out redemption code emails then!

launchbundles.png

The Launch Support Bundles will be retiring permanently on July 5th, after which they will no longer be available!
All remaining redemption codes will be sent out after the 5th.

Upcoming Events
We have a big summer event planned to happen some time in August.
For the time being, we will likely be hosting another Adventuring Riddle Contest at some point this month!

That's all for now, we'll be updating everyone through future news and status posts!
Thank you so much for playing and supporting Dappervolk.

From what I've seen from other users, I'd love for devs of DV to come forward and talk about the gatcha for RLC. It seriously sounds like no one listened when it came to the beta test. I want them to come forward and say that they are at least reading what we're saying!

I’m happy to spend real currency for limited edition items, but will never support real currency gacha as I find it predatory and consider it gambling. That said, I was initially happy to see the ability to purchase a trunk outright.

Having to spend a little less than twenty dollars for a trunk with HALF the bundle, however, is way too much in my opinion. Even for the entire bundle $20 would be a little bit of a stretch for me as I’d want to be buying the bundles every month- but at least it would be something I could stomach.

So what does the chest contain exactly? Everything?
  • Villager Evangelion (#27011) 1 Jul 2020, 5:55 pm
So basically $20 for a 6 item "bundle" that isn't even an actual bundle, or gamble away at $1.80 a spin and hope you get what you want. This is extremely sketchy and tbh I expected a lot more from the staff considering this is something that has apparently been brought up in the past. Strong pass on purchasing turnips indefinitely for me. I was extremely happy to buy the Light&Dark launch support bundle at 14 items for $25 which is 1000000x more reasonable, kinda wondering if that was the right move considering how uncomfortable this makes me the more I think about it.

i was so excited for this to come out as i remember seeing the kickstarter for it but as someone who can't spend money on games i'm super disappointed and feel like i won't be able to get anywhere on here without having to spend a lot of money :(

  • Villager Gareth (#21926) 1 Jul 2020, 6:08 pm
Well I like that there’s a non-premium option at least, even if the potato price is high.

Okay i read a lot of comments....

Guys, this site needs money to run, it is normal. People have jobs and are working behind all this marvelous'ness ha ha

If you don't like the gambling part, you can buy the 6 items package so you won't gamble.

I do agree seeing the complete set a bit cheaper would be nice, cause it is almost double the price as the set if i was gambling.

Thanks for these awesome piece of clothings *_* SO SHINY me want xD

    Those sets are sliiiiick!

I see a lot of people taking a stance against the real life gatcha, and I get it.

But try to see it as Agnes beeing the base price and Pai beeing the "live dangerously" price. It makes perfect sense to me.

And having half the set coming from potatoes also makes sense imo, it means you have to be a regular player in order to achieve the complete set.

    Great job Dappervolk Team!

However, new premium is really garbage and it does encourage real money gatcha :'(

I've played numerous gacha games before and I don't have a problem with RLC gachas- I like that there is a mix of in game currency and rlc gachas- the price is just... oof. definitely deterring me. If $10 flat could afford 10 spins id do it with no hesitation.... but you have to spend TWENTY dollars to get a 10x spin??? ouch. And the prize pool is so small, unless the pool is larger or the sets have out of this WORLD recolors I am not really interested

gonna have to echo everyone WRT the real-life currency gacha, especially since this is a family-friendly site. kids are going to be especially susceptible. it's really disheartening to learn that this was a problem in the beta, too.
  • Villager Phantom (#907) 1 Jul 2020, 7:18 pm
Oof. Wish i read the fine print a little better. I didn't realize that you only get Pai's items in the Mothlike Silver Chest and not Pai's as well as Oran's. Why does it only have half the set and not all the items for that price. 20$ is steep for only a few of the items. Live and learn and all that i suppose. Ugh.

Beautiful items! I love the moth aesthetic
(although I reaaaally dislike the real money gacha....)
  • Villager Misdreavus (#4060) 1 Jul 2020, 7:35 pm
Oooof I really love this game but seeing as the monthly items is gacha based, I'm out.
Would really love to support the game but gacha is a huge turn off for me.
