Hey there, looks like you just wandered in. Why not have a look around and stay for a while, maybe even start your own adventure, if you're into that.

July Update!

Hello world-hoppers! Welcome to July, our official first of a month on Dappervolk after launching. We'd like to thank everyone for a lovely launch week! It's been amazing to see everyone's response to our long months of hard work. We hope to continuously improve on the game and we're so excited to share more of it with you!

Without further ado, our first order of business is the unveiling of our very first Monthly Shop. July's theme is Mothlike!

These items were procured from a distant land full of moonlight, dusty books, and hidden knowledge.

What are Monthly Shops?
  • Every month, Pai, Oran, and Agnes from Peddler's Port will have different sets of 6 items in their shops that will retire at the end of the month.
  • These items are obtained from far away lands and follow the theme of the land they visited each month.
  • The items will retire at the end of each month to be replaced by new stock.
  • All retired items from Monthly Shops will eventually be able to be obtained rarely from Grandma Agnes later on.

How can I get to Peddler's Port?
Peddler's Port is a seaside location that you can unlock by going through the main storyline in Louise Hill. Once unlocked, you can visit Peddler's Port any time without using up a town hop!

Pai's Machine of Wonders
Pai will host these 6 items in their shop this month for 180 turnips per spin. If you spin 10 times, you will be able to choose a free item of your choice! Free spins will expire after about 3 months.

Oran's Emporium
Oran's shop will be stocked with these 6 items for 6000 potatoes per spin!

Agnes' Perpetual Shop
Agne's now hosts a Mothlike Silver Chest that contains a full set of items from Pai's shop at a higher total turnip cost.

These monthly shops will run until July 31st, after which they will be refurbished to house August's monthly items!

charitypet.png

The Charity Pet Sale will be concluding on July 4th, we will be donating all remaining proceeds by the 5th and sending out redemption code emails then!

launchbundles.png

The Launch Support Bundles will be retiring permanently on July 5th, after which they will no longer be available!
All remaining redemption codes will be sent out after the 5th.

Upcoming Events
We have a big summer event planned to happen some time in August.
For the time being, we will likely be hosting another Adventuring Riddle Contest at some point this month!

That's all for now, we'll be updating everyone through future news and status posts!
Thank you so much for playing and supporting Dappervolk.

So let me get this right
You can either gamble to maybe have an attempt at getting all the moth pieces (which unless you do cross site trading or spend actual money)
Or you can pay a premium fee to skip the gambling altogether

:/ I was really hoping to not see gambling practices in this, and had I known from the get-go there would be real money gambling (premium gacha), I would've never supported

The new items are absolutely gorgeous. Totally something that fits my aesthetics. Thanks a lot artists!!

We told you in beta that gambling with real money is gross and predatory.

    Apparently you didn't listen.

Oh boy here I go spending money

I love moths. Thank goodness this isn’t beetle related.

Extremely disappointed in this. irl money based gatcha is just gross, and all the wording surrounding it was misleading as heck. I don't mind the potato one so much, but the turnip one is leaving a bad taste in my mouth and it's not really a 'perk' to have to make one less spin to get a free spin? I'm interested to hear what the staff have to say about this, but given that beta people are reporting they also told the staff this was a bad idea I'm not expecting much.

How come these are gachas when all the other items on peddler's port just let you buy items outright? Why not price them at set prices that vary depending on the desirability of each item like other petsites? if you wouldn't gacha how many months of premium you get why gacha this other thing you pay real money for?

.....not everybody can spend irl money ://

How do we open Orin and Pai's shops as of right now all I can do is chat with them! :(

    Aaaaaa my name is moth!!!

I also will likely not be spending lots of potatoes or turnips on anything unless I see a full preview of the specific item first. Just showing a little circle of the item is not worth spending rl money.

Please hear our pleas and make us previews of individual items! -begs for an hour or two-

Yeah I'm not supporting this gross practice
  • Villager Vile (#1032) 1 Jul 2020, 5:09 pm
Love the moths but hate the system. I 100% wouldn't have backed the kickstarter if I knew there would be gambling with real money. Hard pass. I was about to buy the $20 turnip pack to buy the bundle. I'm so glad someone stopped me. There's no reason for a bundle to include half a set. That's not a bundle.
  • Villager Chaostiel (#1768) 1 Jul 2020, 5:12 pm
The tater price is a bit steep I guess, but I like it more than real life money gacha.
  • Villager Vulcanatus (#9441) 1 Jul 2020, 5:17 pm
While I adore the set and think it's gorgeous, I do have to agree with concerns raised about the premium currency gacha not only being gross but also, completely nonsensical, considering you're also offering a fixed price bundle of the same items. It would make much more sense and be much more moral to simply offer the set entirely for fixed turnip prices.
