A Final Bewitchery...

In the thicket of battle, the stranger's red energy begins to swirl with a life of its own. It's being harnessed by forces unknown, hiding amongst the legions of world-hoppers defending their respective witches.

Dopplegangers? Wizards? A mystery until their sudden disappearance, along with their influence. The Witches War rages on.

Recently, we discovered a few instances of rule breaking which skewed the points in the Witches War. This was too significant to ignore, so after extensive investigation and some deliberation, we've decided to do the following.

44,283 points will be removed from Team Glume on December 10th, 4AM DVT

The Witches War event has been extended to:
Sunday December 11th, 8PM DVT
This will give all teams a final fighting chance at victory.

  • After rollover tonight, the bonus point gain will be reduced to just 1%, effectively giving the teams a relatively even battlefield for the final showdown.
  • We're hoping that these updates make the best of a difficult and unique situation, and we'll also be looking into ways to safeguard against this for other events of this type in the future.

  • A 15 minute maintenance will occur on December 12th 12AM DVT - 4 hours after the team battle ends - to conclude the storyline.
  • The Stranger's Wares shop stock will be moved to a new place, with the seasonal summer clothing continuing to be available for purchase there until December 16th.
  • Complete the "Traversing the Warring Forest" quest for 14 days in total in order to unlock more content after maintenance!

We'd like to ask that in the future, if anyone sees possible examples of rule breaking, to please report it through the ticket desk only and refrain from discussing it publicly on site or in our Discord Server. This kind of action can unintentionally lead to witch hunts and harassment, which are against our Rules of Conduct and harmful overall to the community. Rule breaking should not be grounds to be harassed by other users, allow us to be the mediator. Thank you very much!

    JaneBuzJane (#24420) giving the extremely specific amount of points removed, I assumed it was only the points that had been gained through cheating that were being taken away ,which means that none of the work by non-cheating glume members has been undone. of course this assumption could be wrong, in which case i'd be interested in knowing why the amount of points was so specific.

    prism (#19381) Yes, I know. <3 I mostly meant in the way that striving for a win turned out to not matter - or matter far less - than I think anyone on Team Glume thought it would. Of course it had to be done to remove any unfair points gained but it feels like the last two weeks have been a waste of time, and tbh I'd rather have not played at all than to see what I *thought* we'd gained fairly be ripped away in the last 12 hours before the deadline (when Glume's had a ridiculous lead for like, 5 days). So I'm not speaking from a "my points are gone" perspective, but a "our team's effort turned out to be worth less than everyone else's" perspective.

    To our dearest devs, when the shop is moving, is there more clarification regarding the currency and how it'll be affected. Is the currency permanent like the Officiator Tokens, or will the shop be moved and will items be purchasable by Potatoes?

    I truly don't understand why people keep saying that Team Glume's efforts are now weighted less importantly / all the work over the last two weeks has been for nothing. All of the points that were not garnered through illegal bots remain. LITERALLY all of the work that you put in is there. Also, unless what I am seeing on my screen right now is incorrect, Glume is still FAR in the lead--by 26,813 points at the time of my posting this. No one is saying that all of Glume's team are cheaters and you've not been disqualified, so I just don't understand where this attitude is coming from.

    Follow up to my original comment, NVM, I see now why people are upset since the points aren't going to be deducted yet but in a few hours. I still don't believe that the attitude is correct, but I can at least understand why it's seriously demoralizing to realize that the lead you thought you legitimately had was in fact the result of someone cheating. There's still time though, so maybe you guys can still turn it around.

    Woah, ty to everyone who explained it here it was due to the botting :o I guess it wasn't for the sake of "do it for 10kp" but rather for "the winning team will decide how the story ends" x-x I'm glad that duel-partnering and selling wins/loses is not cheating - got freaked out about the news for a moment X'D

    To even think of cheating on a rather niche site. The prize difference is 10k in easily gained currency. That's like 5 daily quests in LH/3's forest!

    Wow. I kept wondering how Team Glume had such a huge lead over the others, but it never even occurred to me that cheating might be involved. I feel bad for the honest Team Glume members affected by this.
