What choices will you make while being pulled to and fro?
The battle will take place for 3 weeks from:

DECEMBER 9TH 11:59PM DVT
After the battle concludes, a story finale will become available through the quest line.
The Seasonal Shop and non-team battle event content will remain open until December 16th, 11:59PM.
Welcome to Dappervolk's first Team Event!
We're excited to show you our first event which will result in new permanent content and changes to the world of Dappervolk.
THE WITCHES' WAR
- Visit the Witches' War event page to begin and get pulled into one of 3 teams at random.
- Teams cannot be chosen in order to keep team sizes and activity levels as equal as possible.
- You can switch to a different team at random twice throughout the event.
- Earn points for your team through duels and collectively completed daily team goals.
- Each day at rollover, the currently last place team will receive a 30% point boost for the whole day to help give them an edge!
DUELS
- Points for your team can be earned through dueling opposing team players.
- You can visit their profile or forum posts to initiate a duel every 3 minutes.
- Choose one of 3 spells to use in your challenge, each has its strength and weakness - similar to rock paper scissors.
- Victories, Losses, and Draws are rewarded differently.
- If a duel is not responded to within 5 hours, it will result in an automatic draw.
To begin the event story, visit a peculiar spot near 3's Forest - The Stranger's Mire! Go to the World Map and find it just east of 3's Forest.
- Speak to the Stranger at the Mire to begin the quest "Amid the Murk and the Mire"
- There are 2 quests to be unlocked in succession with a third finale quest that will become available after the end of the Witches' War on December 9th.
- "Traversing the Warring Forest" is a daily repeatable quest which can be completed once per day until the event fully concludes on December 16th.
- After the final event conclusion, additional permanent content will become available and the event storyline will be completable by users who haven't completed it yet as a one time quest that unlocks the Stranger's Mire.
- The Stranger's Wares shop is now open!
- The shop will be open until December 16th 11:59PM DVT, after which a new permanent shop will open with additional wares.
- Shop stock includes event themed clothing, up to 4 new pet hatchables, totems, seasonal summer clothing, and more!

Comments
I haven't been signing in much lately, but I saw an ad for it on instagram, and it was enough to draw me back to the site. This feels like Dappervolk at its best! A fun, story based event with achievable goals and great prizes! Whoever on the team worked on developing this should feel so proud!!
Re: maker thing
I love that the winners get to choose their makers but... would that option also extend to makers that are currently in owner inventories too? The machines are super luck based and some people prefer a certain maker over another and when those unwanted makers are spun it means that there's also no one rich enough to sell them to and no one to trade with either (because often enough pet makers > clothing makers)
Anyway my ideal solution (lmao) to this is giving all owners the option to make their custom a permanent site item and have a maker of their choice refunded, one time only. I think this has been talked about somewhere, though....
even if you did choose a specific witch's side in the normal campaign, that choice doesn't inform this one because the witches do not seem to recognize you beyond being a pawn. it's evident whatever this red miasma is has possessed them into waging this war without regard.
I just wanted to say that I absolutely love all the small and big art changes to the areas and the banner and growing plants/mushrooms/avatar frame on players profiles, I love seeing all these neat details, so much of love/effort has been put into this event - I see it and appreciate it, I want these avatar frames with vines and flowers and mushrooms be a clothing item someday <3
I really wanted Barclay but I'm fine with Mycel. Absolutely not Glume though, so I'm pretty disappointed it went Glume > Mycel > Glume for me as I tried for Barclay one more time. With three witches it would make sense to have three tries - one to leave your initial team if you hate it, another try if there's someone you want more, then one more if you're back with who you hate.
I know that sounds awfully specific to my own situation, but to be honest, the random teams is a bummer altogether. All through the site we're encouraged to support our favourite witch, from the 3s Forest quests right through to the start of this one, so it seems almost cruel to hype up a team event revolving on pre-existing affinities, with a chance you'll be stuck on a team you've always been against.
I was so excited for this. (._.)
I don't like Glume at all, I don't mind Mycel too much but Barclay is my favorite and has been since beta so I wanted to be with them. I got Glume first, switched and got Mycel, then switched and got back to Glume. :/
Seems cool and all but I'm probably going to be sitting out for the most part, or maybe just doing the bare minimum to get my own personal rewards from the tiers (though with the duels basically being random luck that makes me even less likely to want to try for the tiers because random is annoying, I hate this style of tier unlock please go back to points gain). I just don't care enough about /maybe/ getting the chance to change the onsite story if I can't also have fun and support my favorite of the three witches.
I know this is salty, but pretty much every event on the site so far has had problems and this one sounded just so good and I thought there was going to be a chance for me to actually really like an event, but thanks DV for ruining yet another one. :(
Can't wait to see the items and pets! So for now, I'm off to dream with Mycel!
