Winter Festivities Conclusion!
Hello everyone, thank you so much for participating in our
First Winter Festivities! We hope you had a great time exploring
the Constellation Library, and getting a peek into the
motivations of the elusive peddlers - Pai, Agnes and Oran.

Here are some end of event stats you might be interested in!
In total, 2744 users participated in wrapping up 113174 gifts in the Winter Tree!

213 users made 1261 submissions in the Bauble Decoration Contest!
187 users made 895 submissions in the Creativity Prompt Contest!
84 pages of submissions were made in the Avatar Contest Thread!

Reviewing the submissions to these contests was a major highlight of the event for us. There were so many amazing entries, ranging from avatars that made us nostalgic, to uniquely beautiful artwork and writing across the bauble and creativity contests. There were even delicious looking pastries we hope their bakers enjoyed!

Here are some plans for improvements for future events like this that we've accumulated from hosting this event!
  • For the sake of future gifting events, we'll be working on balancing item rarity better across the site.
  • We’ll be looking into the rarity matching of gift donations vs. claims to see if we can equalize the system better.
  • We’ll be adjusting Pai’s daily quest “Perusing the Constellation Library” to have a better indication of unlock progress on the final quest. For future quests with this style of unlock, the progress will also be shown more clearly.
  • We’ll be looking into adjusting the layout of the Winter Tree so that less scrolling is required to see the main content.
  • We’ll be adding easier tracking of the event currencies in the winter tree.
  • We’ll be improving on our contest threads that we tried out this event in order to make the experience better.

Our next event is going to be a Spring Event! Before that, we will be working on launching a number of other updates which we'll be posting more info about soon.

    According to the Mar. 4 news post, the event ended on MARCH 18TH 11:59PM.

    That's when we stopped being able to gather currency.

    So today really is "a few days after" -- sucks that it wasn't clear for you, though.

    Maybe the Winter Tree being open till now confused things?

    Not sure how else they could've made it more clear, it was right there in the News Post. Even the Winter Tree said "the event is over" for a few days now.

    A little confused as to how someone(no offense to them, they made lovely avis) won twice in the avatar contest when Im pretty sure the rules stated that wouldn't happen. Please. Do better at sticking to your own rules and how you communicate them.

    Otherwise, Im excited to see how much better this event will be next year when theres more time, better communication, and some much needed balancing. I really do like the event at its core, especially the tree and I think next year it'll go great.

    Because I WAS still able to gather.
    Was it a bug or something?

    Also One way that they could've made it clearer could be to put the timer in the boutiqe too like they did with the autumn event.

    Really surprised that there wasnt a round for the people who submitted after the 5th round? Not sure why the contest remained up when no more rounds were planned but congrats to all the winners and thank you guys so much for the event. The dress up contest was super fun!

    oh, i thought we'd be allowed to claim all the items in the tree. oh well, then. it was mostly turnips anyway, so... no huge loss lol.

    i didn't take much part in this event, but from what little i've played it was definitely more engaging and less of a droll than the previous event. it was fun gifting people wrapping paper back and forth, and the present claim was a very interesting event feature!. thank you very much staff, i'd love to see a similar event again in the future :)

    I only missed 2-3 days of the Event due to rl problems and didnt get the last quest from pai + didnt make it to the 75 Gifts because I Was missing 12 more Gifts ._. I always got the 6 wrapping paper quest or the ones where you had to play Mini games wich doesnt work on mobile 4 me >.<

    But besides that I really enjoyed the Event and I really love all of the Event Items ^~^ glad they listen to the community and try to improve <3

    Well, as for the items "missed", I mean, people saw that you can only collect 3 gifts per day, so yeah, they donated good stuff on their own risk, I donated junk only because I saw this event as an item sink, and it should be that... There are way too many recipes, conecakes etc. into DV, so these kinds of events can act as a nice balance to that.

    I really loved this event. I hope to see more collaborative style events with features like the gift wrapping paper and which can be completed by casual players who may not have as much time for a really grindy event. Thank you!
