December 22nd Update!

Hello everyone! We hope you're having a lovely holiday season so far while staying safe and warm. We've been busy behind the scenes working on various updates, we'll be outlining all changes from the maintenance earlier as well as other topics below!
  • The Ad Theater feature has arrived! Simply visit the Playground to access it.
  • In the Ad Theater, you can watch videos and advertisements to earn potatoes for each video you watch.
  • Video and advertisement content depends on your interests and browsing patterns determined by our ad provider. Advertisements will occasionally appear in the middle of videos which will give you extra earnings once watched.
  • You can also earn turnips, potatoes, and item rewards if you watch a minimum of 6 videos per day consecutively to complete the multi-day reward streak.
  • More info on rewards can be seen on the Theater page.
  • Adjustments and bug fixes may be made as we monitor the feature's launch in the coming days.

  • We've reworked the entire backend image calling and processing system for Adventuring.
  • This allows for a much smoother and shorter game loading time, and should also moderately reduce cpu usage.
  • Due to the image cache, this update may take a few days of refreshing to fully integrate. Feel free to report any bugs you find to the Bug Reports forum!
  • We're also working on updating the sprite thumbnails and additional adjustments down the line, since our backend system for npc events and images is more robust now!

  • Stat affinities have been added back in, this means that pet food and quest stat gains are once again affected by either the pet's nature or the player's class.
  • If you're an elven class, you can now get +1 bonus charm for quest rewards or if you're getting +1 tenacity, there is a chance you'll get +0 tenacity.
  • If your pet is comprehensive nature, it can now gain +1 bonus comprehension or +0 honour if +1 honour is rolled from pet foods .
  • Stat affinities for Daily Bonus Stat Tasks have been adjusted so that the stat your strength is in will give you one extra stat task and your weak stat will have one less stat task each day. This has been adjusted so that no effort is wasted and so that there is a limit to stat weakness for tasks.

  • Vaer Sea Forage's potato reward gain has been increased for better balancing.
  • Currently, we're lacking the expertise to fully fix some of the reward and score keeping bugs affecting some users. If you're only experiencing the reward generation issues on mobile, we'd suggest that you try playing on a different device for now. We'll keep at it and give you updates if we manage to fix the issues!

  • Pet profiles now have NAVIGATE buttons that will scroll through the user's menagerie, allowing for a more convenient user experience.
  • The order should go by the saved pet order in each pen, and loop back to the first pen once the last pen's pet is reached.
  • There may be some discrepancies for pens with newly obtained pets that haven't had their order manually sorted by the user.
  • All new unsorted pets will be ordered by ascending pet ID when navigated through.

  • Directly linked trades market lots can no longer be viewed by a blocked user of the trade lot's creator.
  • Accessory usages can no longer be granted to a user who has been blocked by the accessory's owner, or if the owner is blocked by the recipient of the usage.

We're currently keeping on top of new tickets being sent in, and continuing our work on going through the remaining bulk of older tickets. Some tickets with the same query that are currently unanswered are those we're working on a consistent way to address or handle them, and others are situations or contain issues that we need to deliberate over before making a decision. We're up to date and keeping up well with all pet accessory design submissions. There is an average wait time of 1-4 days after submitting your accessory for approval. We're working on some visual and text based updates to the rules in order to cover details that are currently not included/up to date. In the meantime, since our ticket queue is manageable, feel free to send in a ticket or PM Admin #1 if you have questions about an accessory submission you're unsure about!

    Hesitantly excited for the add theater. It's frustrating the rewards are only granted after completing the 12 day streak(and honestly don't seem all too enticing), especially given that so far I've averaged about 4-5 ads per video(why not just plain ads?) but I'll wait and reserve my judgement to see how it all evens out over the next month or so.

    The stat affinities(and negatives) should really be explained better since there's already so much confusion about them. I'm assuming you won't receive a minus to existing stats( say I start the say with 50 comp, I can't go under that amount but could basically receive a 0 for completing a comp stat boost and stay at 50) but it's still confusing, especially if you're newer to the site.

    Overall, I'm hopeful this is a step in the right direction. I'm hoping enough users are able to use, and not despise, the ad theater so that more staff can be hired on to help things run more smoothly. I'm glad that I can tell the team hasn't given up on us or the site. Thank you to the team for doing better about keeping us informed on the site itself.

    maybe i'm misunderstanding, but the stat affinity system sounds even worse than it was before, so that's...fun? especially sucks for elves, since your class is weak in tenacity, you only get 4 dailies now, with a chance of one of them being the pet alchemy task which isn't feasible as a daily requirement in the first place lol

    interesting... instead of a potential stat decrease for quest rewards, how about... nothing gained? like a flop. that is still a blow, but not a punishment. it’s too early in the game for harder blows when right now, stats aren’t all that rewarding to begin with. it feels like a slight attempt to slow users down in the storyline by doing this now, considering currently all stats really do is allow you to advance through stat gates in the story.

    Though, I'm really hoping that I'm reading the stats part wrong. We and our pets can now lose stat points that we already have? I'm fine with missing out on gaining a point, but losing points we already earned? Please, please, no. That's worse than before. Again, I hope I'm just reading that wrong. :/

    More serious now: I'd love to continue supporting the site and devs, especially with means that don't cost me anything, but... I'm not really a fan of ad theater's reward system in its current state, so I'll probably pass.
    It feels harsh and tedious with little incentive to visit it daily, when the premise was 'another way to earn turnips for free'. The daily login bonus is nice and works, because it doesn't decay even if you can't make it every once in a while (iirc) so you don't miss out on potential rewards.
    I think I'd rather get any results at all immediately, like 1 turnip per ad/video watched alongside potatoes with a daily cap (or even 20-25 turnips every 3 consecutive days), than hope for the elusive 75 per streak of almost 2 weeks in a row because that's barely gonna happen in such hectic times.


    And while I'm already here, kudos to the dev team for heavily improved communication with site's users. I know you're trying your best, and I wish you a peaceful and safe holiday break.

    After about 20 minutes of ads, I now show 42 potatoes in my counter. Obviously my problem is not ad blocker since they've been playing. But it would seem I shouldn't have to have this running all days to get a few potatoes and credit for watching the ads.

    ngl i'm never gonna do the ad theater with how it's set up, but goodluck to those who do. 6 advertisement videos with a ton of ads inside those videos per day, plus you have to commit to getting a perfect streak for a week and a half for less than half of a Pai spin worth of turnips... it's not great.

    the amount of turnips isn't the demotivator though, it's mainly the streak and amount of effort to maintain the streak that's unappealing. a base amount or limit of earned turnips through ads per day, like 5-10 turnips, would be so much nicer.

    i understand it's likely intentional, the streaks being made easy to fail since it equals more ads watched and no turnips added to the economy, it just doesnt seem worth even the most avid players time really
