PITRE'S ACT OF BENEVOLENCE

• This is an anonymous present donation and claim tree run by Pitre the jester!
• Roll tasks to wrap presents and donate them to the tree.
• You can donate an unlimited number of gifts and claim up to 3 per day, 1 for each donation you make that day.
• Gift donation and claiming will be sorted by rarity, meaning that generally you will get a similar rarity item to what you tend to donate!
• Additional prizes can be claimed as you hit total donation milestones, they will give out special event prizes not within the user created pool!
• After the event ends, there will be 7 days of free present claiming on an individual cooldown timer for the left over present pool.
• This will go on for 7 days or until the pool is depleted.
  

HOW TO GET DECORATIONS
Decorations are required for present wrapping tasks in the Secret Gift Exchange and can be obtained by:

• NPC repeatable quests in the Carnival - Opening on May 23rd 12AM DVT
• Receiving them from other users through Decorations gifting on user profiles.
• Random Item Alchemy
• Adventuring Rewards
• You can post in this thread to give and receive decorations!
  

• There are 3 new seasonal NPC's in the Carnival. Say hello to Pitre, Cordelia, and Fefin!
• Each NPC has their own shop which takes the same event currency - Carnival Tokens.
• There are 46 new items and 3 new pet species to be discovered!
• New NPC's and content will be added to the Carnival each year until the area is full.
• All new seasonal items in the shops can be obtained by doing the quests for about 2 weeks and collecting secret exchange milestone prizes!
  

Carnival Quests are now available!

• Each NPC has their own repeatable quest featuring their respective carnival games.
  
  • Pitre's "Cards, Jesters, and Destiny" quest!
  • Cordelia's Lucky Wheel quest!
  • Fefin's Great Monkey Maze quest!
    
  
  
• Each quest will each be completable 4 times a day and grant varying token and decoration prizes depending on how well you do.

HOW TO OBTAIN CARNIVAL TOKENS
Carnival Tokens are the currency for the all shops at the Carnival and are obtainable in the following ways:

• Doing the seasonal event quests in the Carnival
• Completing gift milestones and claiming prizes at the Secret Gift Exchange
• Random Encounters
• Random Item Alchemy
• Adventuring Rewards
• Playground Minigames
  

• There are two Custom Maker grand prizes, type chosen by the winners.
• One can be won through entering on the site thread and another through sharing on social media.
• There are additional participation and runner up prizes for all entrants!
• Only first time custom maker owners are eligible to win the grand prizes this time, though anyone can participate for the other prizes!
• The winners will be announced on site once the giveaway concludes and winners are drawn.
  

UPCOMING EVENT INFO
Here are some details on the upcoming Carnivale!

• This event type is a gift exchange system.
• Complete tasks to help wrap up presents to add to the pile.
• Select presents from your inventory to wrap up for fellow players!
• Claim a certain amount of random presents from the tree each day for donating presents.
• Claim additional prizes for reaching donation milestones.
• Give and receive decorations to help wrap your presents.
  

SEASONAL MAP ♦ 3 NEW NPC'S ♦ REPEATABLE QUESTS ♦ EVENT SHOPS

• Unlike deity related seasonal maps, this area will be available for the full winter season annually, with additional content added to it each year until the area is fully filled up!
• This year, there are 3 new NPC's residing in the carnival, each with their own repeatable quest and shop.
• There will be unique seasonal currency obtainable through these quests, the gifting system, through general site mechanics, as well as via the forum contests.
• This currency can be used in each NPC's shop, which contain seasonal carnival clothing, pets, and other items exclusive to this area.
• Shops will be accessible on the second day of the event on May 18th at 12AM DVT.
  

There will be a Bauble Contest, Avatar Contest and a Creativity Prompt Contest held during the event. A Custom Maker Raffle will also be held on site as well as on social media!

• Speak to the First Mate at the Shipwreck to begin the quest "The Captain Behind the Curtain"
• There are 5 quests in total, to be unlocked in succession.
• 2 quests will be repeatable, allowing for progression and accumulation of currency.
• The Neat Ship Shop is stocked with Aeolin items and will be open all month, taking Sand Dollars as currency!
• Other than quests, Sand Dollars can also be obtained through Random Encounters, Adventuring, and Vaer Sea Forage.
  

STAFF HIRING
We'll be posting our recruitment post for community and event managers as well as new moderators during the event this month. We're excited to welcome some new faces into our team and grateful to our staff for keeping Dappervolk going!

KELBI PLANS
Our preparations for the Kelbi storyline are going smoothly alongside the upcoming event! We're aiming to launch the Kelbi event relatively quickly after the upcoming event concludes.

AVIAR COVE BALANCING
The update to Aviar Cove will commence preparations once we finish working on the upcoming events!

• Speak to Lian at the Lotus Pavilion to begin the seasonal quest "A Drop in the Lake"
• There are 3 quests in total to be unlocked in succession.
• "The Lotus Festival" is a daily repeatable quest which can be completed 4 times per day.
• Lian's Temple Stall is open again for the month of April!
• Stocked are Signi's items, with 2 new items available!
• Signi's seasonal currency "Ceramic Scale" can be obtained from seasonal quests in the Lotus Pavilion as well as through several other regular site mechanics.
  

EVENT PROGRESS
We're working steadily on both the Winter and the Kelbi event, some more detailed progress was outlined in our previous news post. Our plan is to aim to start the Winter Event some time mid April, so we'll have more news for you on that as soon as we're ready. The Kelbi event will follow relatively soon after the Winter event ends!

Though our event progress is late, we're confident that the stories and lore will not feel out of place, and we're excitedly hoping to finish creating storylines for all 12 of our deities by early 2024. Dappervolk's world and lore is intrinsically tied to the deities and how NPCs view them, which is why so much emphasis is placed on them currently. Creating stories for the Deities with events does a vital job of expanding the world lore.

We'll be releasing our staff recruitment post some time during the coming event when we have an activity boost!

QOL UPDATES
We're working on some more QoL Updates and bug fixes which we'll be releasing in changelogs through the month.
