The riddle question itself can be up to a paragraph or as short as a sentence.
Maximum length is 8 lines. It can rhyme or be succinctly worded, the choice is yours.

For riddles in Louise Hill, we'll be looking for thematically fitting riddles, so riddles related to farming, temperate meadows and hills, vegetables, produce, and the NPC’s of the town, etc will have an advantage. We judge based on cleverness of subject matter and writing flow!

FAQ
How do I write a Dappervolk style riddle?
It is easiest to craft a riddle by going backwards from the answer you first decide on. Here is a link to the wiki that explains the symbolism of each virtue in more detail: https://dappervolk.fandom.com/wiki/Adventuring#Riddles

Do you have any tips on how best I can get my riddle selected?
Things that factor into our judging process are the uniqueness of the answer, how easy it is to guess (try to avoid using words that allude directly to the answer), if the riddle makes sense, and how well a riddle is written.

Can I use existing riddles found on the internet?
Plagiarism is against the rules, please write your own riddles! We cannot use creative property made by other parties on Dappervolk without permission from the actual creators. Plagiarism found on any of your riddles will cause all entries submitted by you within this contest to be disqualified.

To play Devil's Advocate on the fact the turnip prize seems small, if you get 4 riddles accepted, it'll stack up. It doesn't seem too outrageous.

I would have much preferred the return of the riddle prizes over 75 turnips.

Does each riddle submission give a raffle ticket? I like free things, so I could churn out a handful of decent riddles with that motivation :)

Well that's me busy all month!

I'm a bit unclear on the spacing--can we write it like a poem like so:

    Blah blah blah blam,
    Blah blah blah blaw,
    Blah blah blah clam,
    Blah blah blah claw.

or do we need to put it as more of a sentence:

Blah blah blah blam, blah blah blah blaw--blah blah blah clam, blah blah blah claw?

I'm excited to enter a few riddles! It does seem like the random raffle prizes are of higher demand than the guaranteed win prize value. It would make more sense if the winners auto-received one of the raffle items, as well as the addition of 75 turnips per winning riddle (or simply more turnips), I think. (Maybe an increase to 100 would psychologically be nicer?) Softly seconding the issue that 75 turnips will not actually afford you anything on its own, to my knowledge, and it would take 3 winning riddles to purchase one item from Pai's shop under the new update, and if you win, you don't get a raffle prize. So, this is essentially a payment for permanent use of someone's creative writing, and you're saying it's worth less than a dollar and/or anything else on site. Disheartening. Hopefully, there will be a lot of entries and the prizes will be increased, though! Good luck to everyone who enters! ♥
