Even if we won't mention the kickstarter goals (oh dear), really slow progress on the further development (like towns or events), and a "situation" with tickets (I have a report for someone's homophobic comment since 9th of July)... Referral was an interesting choice.
I agree completely with the whole "petsite should have goals" thought, otherwise it'd be too easy, right? And it's not like it's pay-to-win system?.. But it is. I can see people buying referrals on the internet right now. Which will end up with a bunch of dead accounts and users who most likely will never log in again. Because let's be honest, what percent of people who got paid to play the game for an hour would be interested in continuing? What percent of those people is the right audience for this game, realistically? It's not a serious problem, yes it's unfair for people, but fine for the site overall.

I'm seeing a lot of sad comments here, on every update, but I don't really see answers from the stuff? Please, can we get some answers? Not on discord or somewhere, but a simple Q&A topic on this site? I may be wrong and blind, and if so - I'm really sorry, please point me in the direction of one!
As always: no hate to any of those who works on the game, I know it's hard and I know it takes time. Just please, don't be silent! And good luck <3

Maeva (#36503) sorry to continue this discussion but you made points I feel deserve discussion!! Firstly, I completely agree on the kickstart stuff—that needs to be the priority just to finally give the people who took a chance on this site what they paid for!!

With the pay-to-win regarding a referral pet, I completely disagree that something being hard makes it a pay-to-win risk. That’s always going to be an issue with pet sites and their more rare items. I really don’t think you’ll be able to have a site with rare items and not have some shady underbelly. It’s against the rules and that’s all the staff can do aside from remove the incentive of rare items at all (which will cause like..... so much site boredom D: ) We can see with the clothing items that people still can get them if they try, whether that be through arranging item trades or asking friends to try out the game. Not only that, but there’s really no rush to get this pet!! Aside from it being new and shiny, it’s going to be in the store for the foreseeable future, unlike the shards. That’s plenty of time for enough people on this site to refer people to get enough units into the ecosystem, aka it’s not impossible to get legitimately without buying illegal signups, so it’s not pay-to-win by definition.

Someone else said something about the referral system needing to be reworked. I kind of agree!! I think that they should add things that give you points—like points for a referral’d account buying turnips! Or reaching max affection with NPCS! Not casual things ppl do, sure, but just more chances for points that work in spirit with what they’re trying to do with the whole one point per town thing. If they gave out points just for new accounts being made with the referral link, that would encourage even more multi/shell accounting though, which I don’t think is worth the trade off easier access to a few royal-themed items.

Lastly, I think a Q+A is a great idea!! I would love to hear some answers to big questions, though I know that communication has greatly increased so far and I’m grateful for that with update logs. Giving solid answers to when things can be done is tough. I’m super happy with the trajectory of the site so far tho! I’ve kept an eye on the online numbers and it seems like a pretty solid 200-300 range for the past months, so to whomever said the site is hemorrhaging users, I really don’t think that’s the case. My HIGHEST hope is that the kickstarter stuff gets out soon and we can move forward!! Besides that I’m excited about all the new pets even tho I’m not even that much of a pet-centric player :) Lol thanks to anyone who’s read this far for hearing me out.

Wait a “prismatic” pet? Hope they don’t mean the prismatic pup considering that was a beta test pet, aka a limited pet. Hm.
