Reporting Comment #810504 on Summer Event Update! by Fairypaw (#40137)

I understand your feedback, that people were saving embers in case there was something magically going to pop up at the end that they could spend those embers on. I even saved a couple for this case (though admittedly alched most). If the user base trusted DV this wouldn't have been an issue, so this can go both ways since trust is a 2-way path.

DV gave us embers, and told us that they would disappear after the event. How could they have known that users would later come up with random ideas (like ember stores, etc.) from nowhere? They could have quelled these worries earlier if they had seen specific forum threads, but is it DV's responsibility to monitor the players' imaginations, and clarify things for every idea they come up with? If the user base had trusted what they originally said, this wouldn't have been an issue.

At the same time I agree/understand that DV hasn't given us much reason to trust them, considering the beginning of the summer event, where everyone was worried about the points being available for tasks.
My original comment wasn't well phrased since I wasn't expecting to elaborate but I personally (and this is just a personal opinion) believe that it is not DV's responsibility to respond to every idea the community has, which is what I meant by "spoon-feeding", though if that term was too offensive for you, just ignore it.

In response to: "why is it that those defending dv feel the need to put down others for being critical." For me, I don't ever feel like I tried to put anyone down through my comments (though if you find me offensive when my intent wasn't then sorry I guess?). But I do feel like, on this topic, my ideas are invalidated. I see a lot more "I understand, but..." coming from this side than the other side, so it doesn't feel like anyone is listening to what I might have to say, which might be a reason why people on this side are more radical. This is not to excuse anyone from rude behavior, but it is something to keep in mind.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I never try to offend anyone, but if I do anyway, then take an apology.
