strange to see people who say they are hardcore players just up in arms that there is this extra trophy item. since some of the items are totally gated to new users there are users who can never play in completionist style which is exactly the users this site well has to still have appeal to. this gesture is actually pretty nice for those users who still do want some kind of trophy for their playstyle. it's clearly in addition to the regular monthlies so this is also strange since its the first time i've seen people on here up in arms when there is /additional/ content in the midst of all the content released lately. there's no lack of content within the past month in fact i feel overwhelmed on the site as of late.

look at the user count right now even though there is no event going on to see how many people are "here for it". just my 2c as someone who started recently who is trying to play the game seriously even though i actually feel pretty casual even failing to get all the monthlies some months.
